The Humane Society of Moffat County is grateful to be a Moffat County United Way donor-designated agency.

The Humane Society is an all-volunteer local nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of companion animals in Moffat County through community support, local pet adoptions and education.

Volunteers like Ann Anderson serve on the Humane Society Board and work to create bridges for local animal shelter pets to find their forever families.

Ann has opened her heart to the plight of shelter animals. She knows rescue animals need extra doses of compassion and patience.

Many of the animals come in as strays, or as surrendered pets whose owners no longer want them or can no longer care for them. Sometimes changes in housing situations force owners to give them up.

Shelter animals are frequently innocent victims of neglect or abuse through no fault of their own. Many enter the shelter scared, skittish and shy.

Ann’s gentleness and affection brighten the days of the shelter pets. She provides them with love and a sense of safety until their forever families can be found.

While people work to support themselves and their families, Ann volunteers to enhance her life. Ann is a role model we all can appreciate. She possesses the desire for positive change in the world more of us would like to see. She gives a voice to pets who cannot speak for themselves and strives to unite pets with people who will love them and keep them for life.

In return, the pets ask for nothing more than the privilege of being loved by you. Every time a shelter pet makes it into a loving, forever family, Ann and volunteers like her realize the effort has been worth it.

Our world is a better place because of Humane Society volunteers like Ann Anderson and generous support by Moffat County United Way.

The Humane Society of Moffat County has no affiliation to any regional, state or national organizations.
