Hugh W. McWilliams

Hugh W. McWilliams died June 10, 2002, at the Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee, Calif. He was 81.

McWilliams was born Nov. 24, 1910, in Craig to William and Cora McWilliams.

While living in North Lake Tahoe, he owned the North Shore hardware store in Kings Beach, Calif., for 40 years and established Village Hardware in Incline Village, Nev.

He graduated from the University of Colorado Springs, Colo., as a member of Phi Beta and was a retired Naval officer from WWII.

McWilliams is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret McWilliams, of Reno, Nev., and Lake Tahoe; daughters, Kitty McWilliams, of Reno and Lynn McWilliams-Armas, of Reno and Lake Tahoe; sons, Charles McWilliams, of Reno, and Marty McWilliams of Incline Village, Nev.; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one niece from Colorado.

Services were held July 19 at the North Lake Tahoe Conference Center.
