Holli Salazar packs a powerful punch to win MMA pro debut
The hunt is over, and a winner was named Wednesday night.
Hayden native Holli Salazar was victorious in her mixed martial arts professional debut Wednesday during Alaska Fighting Championship 136 in Anchorage, Alaska.
The bout, broadcast on UFC Fight Pass, was a catchweight event between Salazar, nicknamed “The Huntress,” and Maura Tynanes.
Salazar won by technical knockout with seven seconds remaining in the second round, unleashing a flurry of punches on Tynanes to give her the win.

Salazar recently returned home to Colorado, where she trains at Grand Junction’s Golden Fights MMA Gym.
“A huge thank you to my coach Andrew Yates took the time with me to fly out, be away from his family to be in my corner!” Salazar posted on Facebook after the fight, also thanking all her friends and family for their support.
