Hobson kept faith
As we celebrate the passing of the Rev. Ray Hobson into glory on Nov. 1, we look at the writings of Paul to Timothy. Paul was in prison expecting to meet his master at any time and this is what he said: “The time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Paul didn’t say he won every battle, which he didn’t, but he fought it to the end. He didn’t say he took first place, but he says he finished. He didn’t say he was the greatest in the faith, only that he kept it.
And so it was with Brother Ray. He fought the good fight, he finished the race and he kept the faith his entire life. We will miss him. (The Rev. Bill Lyon is minister at Maybell Bible Church.)
The body recovered from a drowning at Harvey Gap Reservoir has been identified.
