Elwood Shelton

Moffat County High School wrestlers Mark Hastings and Kyle Kosture have been selected by Wrestling USA magazine as All-American wrestlers. Hastings was named to first team, while Kosture was received honorable mention.

The magazine honors wrestlers across the nation with the award making the two local wrestlers respected on a national level.

“It’s flattering to have guys honored in this way,” coach Roman Gutierrez said.

“When you’ve accomplished so much in a year, it’s nice to have kids honored on a national level.”

Wrestling USA uses seven stipulations to chose wrestlers from around the country to be honored as All-Americans.

These stipulations include:

accomplishments at the state high school championships (folkstyle)

National Junior Freestyle and Greco-Roman success

Cadet National placement

National High School Seniors Championships seniors only

performances at prestigious high school tournaments

information from coaches and parents

state from which nominees hail.
