— School board President George Wixon is retiring this fall after serving 12 years. He is happy about the changes in the schools in the past few years. The extra hours worked by Wixon are appreciated by the community.
Krystin Beadling was chosen “Reader of the Week” at the Hayden Public Library.

The Hayden High School football team began practice Tuesday. It was reported there were lots of sore muscles among the young men.

Miriah Doolin celebrated her birthday Aug. 7 at the miniature golf course in Craig. A large group of her friends and classmantes played golf and had refreshments.

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Hockett and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Hockett were in Denver the weekend of Aug. 1 and Aug. 8 to help John and Charla Walker move into their new home.

Suzie Copeland returned home Monday with her daughter, Misty Jenkins, following a trip to Pennsylvania.

Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Rickman and Jack Rickman left Thursday for Denver to visit with their mother, Carol.

Mr. and Mrs. Walt Brazelton were happy to have their long-time friends Catherine and Travis Waller visit them on Aug. 1. Mr. Waller was president of the Hayden Bank many years ago. They moved to Pueblo, Colo.

Sheilia Woodley and Charlene Barnes made a trip to Idaho in July to get Mig Summers to spend time here with her daughter, Charlene and family.

Vicki Summers and a friend were in Hayden visiting Aug. 1.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Talkington came from Laramie, Wyo., to visit Paul’s sister, Dorothy Vaughn; son, Ed; wife, Cindy; and daughter, Jennifer from Aug 6-8. They traveled to Sleepy Cat to celebrate Paul’s birthday.

Carol Rickman broke her hip and had surgery in Denver while visiting her friend, Donna Rickman. She was on her way back from a trip to North Carolina where she visited her mother and other family members. Her daughter, Betty Barnes and granddaughter, Andrea Camp, went to Denver to be with her during the surgery.
