Hallgren joins Daily Press staff

Craig Daily Press Staff Report

— Hans Hallgren was hired Thursday to fill the photographer position at the Craig Daily Press.

Hallgren replaces Michelle Perry, who was the Daily Press’ photographer and special sections editor.

“We are very excited to have Hans joining the team,” Daily Press editor Jerry Raehal said. “He’s got a great blend of talent and experience. Photography is crucial to telling stories, and we think Hans will do great.”

Hallgren’s focus will be just about anything that involves Moffat County and the people that live here.

“I can’t wait to get out there,” Hallgren said. “I have a great newsroom of people to work with, and I look forward to the many stories we will work on in the future.”

Hallgren recently moved back to Denver after spending two years working for a newspaper in Norwalk, Conn. He graduated in 2004 from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a degree in photojournalism.

Hallgren moved to Craig the same day he started at the Daily Press.

“My favorite thing about journalism is it’s your job to explore a community, and it’s quite exciting when it’s a completely new community,” he said.
