Greg Hamilton: Thanks to Craig for hospitality

To the editor:

To the wonderful, friendly people of Craig: During last week’s cold spell –n Tuesday and Wednesday — was fortunate enough to be stranded, because of a frozen diesel truck, in your beautiful city.

I was amazed at the friendly, helpful people I met, and it reminded me of the small town I grew up in, in eastern Colorado. Unfortunately, it is only 30 miles from Denver, and has been overrun by “city people” and is not even close to being as nice of a place as Craig.

Thank you again to all of my new friends: Tony and Nancy of Rocky Mountain Auto; Rin at Travelers Inn; Kris at the Super 8; Jessica at the Kum & Go; Erin at Cassidy’s and, last but not least, the nice parts driver from NAPA who gave me a ride back to my truck when it was 13 below zero.

Be proud, people of Craig. You have some of the best people living there.

In the words of the immortal John Lennon, who died 25 years ago last week, “Imagine all the people, living life in peace.”

Your Friend,

Greg Hamilton
