Grand Olde West Days Committee

Spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm

Dear editor:

In our haste to meet deadlines and thank all who contributed to the Success of the 2005 Grand Olde West Days, we realize there was an oversight. We offer our apologies for not mentioning an important group that re-joined the celebration this year. This dedicated group stepped forward to provide a wonderful non-denominational church service and blessing of the animals as part of the Grand Olde West Days celebration.

The service was conducted jointly by Pastor Bob Woods of the First Congregational Church, Pastor Phil Gibson of Friendship United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Melinda Bobo of Lutheran Church of Grace and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Additionally, the worship service was co-sponsored by the Calvary Baptist Church, Craig Assembly of God Church, First Baptist Church, First Christian Church, and St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

What a wonderful spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm to behold. Thanks so much to you all for your efforts during the Memorial Day Weekend celebration.
