Gorbet: Vote no on lodging tax

To the editor:

I have worked for the lodging industry here in Craig for 5 1/2 years.

I deal with our visitors on a daily basis, and have conversations with them about things ranging from the weather to the proposed lodging tax.

The majority of them say they will not pay that kind of tax and will stay somewhere else. Please consider that with no visitors, there are lots of us who will have no jobs.

Maybe all of us who will be out of work could live at the new visitor center.

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

Vote no on the lodging tax.
