Girls soccer team earns first Western Slope win

The Moffat County girls soccer team won the contest of the winless Thursday night in Gypsum.

The Bulldogs earned their first Western Slope League win, 3-1, against Eagle Valley.

Sophomore Ashleigh Mann led the team with two goals. Shaylyn Kawcak added another goal. The teams went into halftime tied at 1-1.



For the first time during a Western Slope contest, the Bulldogs outscored their opponents in the second half.

Moffat improved to 1-3 in WSL play, and the Devils dropped to 0-4. The Bulldogs host 2-4 Delta at 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodburry Park.
