Daily Press staff

— The Moffat County High School girls golf tournament, originally scheduled for Monday, has been rescheduled for today at Yampa Valley Golf Course in Craig.

The tournament, which includes three teams and about 24 players total, begins at 9:30 a.m. MCHS will compete against teams from Grand Valley and Glenwood Springs.

Coach Ann Marie Roberts said she will play seven golfers in the home tournament.

Senior Bonnie Flanders, junior Heather Nicholson, sophomores Nike Cleverly and Callie Papoulas and freshman Sam Fox will golf, along with junior varsity players Jayme Colvin and Jamie Brown.

The home tournament is MCHS’ final tune-up before competing in the state qualifying regional tournament Tuesday at Cobble Creek Golf Course in Montrose.

Four golfers per team are allowed to compete at the regional tournament. Roberts said Nicholson, Cleverly, Papoulas and Fox are her choices for the regional tourney.

The top 10 finishers at the regional tournament qualify for the state tournament.
