Tickets go on sale in October for November event

Hans Hallgren

— About 800 people are expected to head to the Moffat County High School auditorium for Great Gatherings, A Taste of Home’s coast-to-coast traveling cooking school Nov. 19, said program coordinator Julie Dempster.

She wants the public to know the event is coming, but its not here yet.

“I’m already getting requests for tickets, and they don’t go on sale until Oct 22,” said Dempster.

The cooking school will be hosted by culinary specialist Kristi Larson and will cover a variety of subjects. The theme of Great Gatherings ranges from desserts to autumn-inspired meals.

These two-hour programs are held in more than 250 locations every year and stop in this area about every other year, teaching recipes, Dempster said.

There will be a booth area opening at 4:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. There also will be a raffle at intermission for the new Taste of Home Baking Cookbook, and every recipe cooked onstage will be given away at the end of the demonstration. Tickets are $7, and the program will run to 9 p.m.
