The Moffat County High School girls swim team began its season at home Friday with the Moffat County Meet, the first competitive event in Craig for the girls’ aquatics program since 2014.

Alongside the MCHS team for the triangular meet were Glenwood Springs and Fruita Monument, the two larger teams taking first and second, respectively, each with a roster of more than 30.

Though the Bulldogs placed third, the home team took a victory in the 200-meter freestyle relay race, swum by Molly Neton, Kelsey McDiffett, Katelynn Turner and Meeker’s Jeni Kincher, with a time of 2:28.84.

Kincher also won the 50 free race at 33.87 seconds, only a hair ahead of teammate Alex Neton’s 33.89.
