A man originally from Craig lost his life all too soon in a recent motorcycle crash in Texas.

Christopher Rankin, 26, passed away in the early hours of Friday, Dec. 21, of injuries sustained during a crash in Victoria, Texas.

The Victoria Advocate reported Rankin was struck while riding his 2003 Kawasaki by the driver of a blue Dodge Durango, which also struck a Ford F-150. Neither of the drivers were injured, though Rankin was flown to San Antonio for severe injuries.

Rankin had recently relocated to Texas from Colorado.

Rankin’s cousin, Rosa Elena Saenz, of Longmont, arranged an online fundraiser to help with expenses, such as funeral costs for Rankin’s family, which includes his parents, Mike and Mariah Fuller, of Craig.

“He was a very caring person. He always had a smile on and always wanted the same for everyone else,” Saenz said. “He loved spending as much time with his family as possible and was a hard worker. He had a very goofy character and was always laughing and joking.”

The fundraiser through Facebook has already raised more than $1,000.
