From Pipi’s Pasture: Achievement night 2014

Diane Prather

This year’s Moffat County Achievement Night was held at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion on Nov. 19. This night is always special because it recognizes the many accomplishments of the 4-H members during the past year. This week, “From Pipi’s Pasture” salutes the achievements of the 4-H members and their leaders.

The evening’s program began with the presentation of colors, pledges and recognition of special guests. Besides 4-H members and their families, the event was attended by representatives of the Moffat County Commissioners, Moffat County Fair Board and Moffat County 4-H Foundation. Attendees also included junior livestock sale buyers, donors, supporters and volunteer leaders.

The first awards of the evening were 2014 Outstanding 4-H Leader and Outstanding 4-H Members. Selection of such awards was made by the Moffat County 4-H program. This year’s Outstanding Leader recipient was Wade Gerber who has been a leader of the Breeze Basin Community Club for one year and leader of the shotgun program for seven years.
