Fraudulent warrant calls rankle residents: On the Record — Monday, Aug. 20

10:37 a.m. On the 1000 block of Seven Street, officers with the Craig Police Department responded to a report of a fraudulent call claiming the reporting party was the subject of an arrest warrant. Officers confirmed the reporting person was not wanted on a warrant.
12:04 p.m. On the 800 block of School Street, officers tagged a vehicle for removal for parking violations.
2:17 p.m. On the 1000 block of Seventh Street, a caller reported receiving a Facebook message saying there was a warrant out for their arrest.
2:44 p.m. On the 800 block of First Street, a resident reported a theft from a home. Household goods and clothing were reported stolen.
3:08 p.m. On the 500 block of Moffat County Road 7, a business owner reported a trespasser. A trespassing notice was issued at the request of the owner.
5:28 p.m. On the 600 block of Wickes Avenue, officers responded to a fire alarm at an apartment complex. Upon arrival, officers learned a 3-year-old child had pulled the alarm.
5:39 p.m. On the 600 block of Wickes Avenue, officers responded to a car crash in a parking lot. A car struck another car while backing out. No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.
11:38 p.m. On the 700 block of Hospital Loop, officers spotted a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. Upon investigation, they determined the vehicle was abandoned.
4:19 a.m. On the 900 block of Industrial Avenue, police in Craig responded to a state parks related incident. Craig police said someone was looking around a business with flashlights, but police found the business secure and no crime had been committed.
