Food Bank of the Rockies removes Craig volunteer

The Food Bank of the Rockies has removed Rosemary Gordon from volunteer service during future food distributions at Moffat County Fairgrounds after an altercation in May.

Ernie Day, 65, said he is disabled, meaning he is allowed to go to the front of the line with other seniors and people with disabilities. In May, Gordon confronted him and told him he needed to move to the back.

Day refused, stating that he was allowed to be at the front. Law enforcement eventually escorted him away from the scene.

“Food Bank of the Rockies requests volunteers and partner agencies to treat all clients with dignity and respect… We thank you for bringing this to our attention and apologize for any embarrassment you an your family may have experience,” wrote Starlene Collins, Food Bank of the Rockies manager in an email to Day.
