Fondel Lake

Savery, Wyo., resident Fondel Lake died Sept. 6, 2002, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig. She was 93.

Lake was born May 12, 1909, in Laramie, Wyo., to Carl and Edith (Wickham) Gross. She was raised and attended school in Savery. She married James P. Barney in 1934 in Laramie. Following his death, she married Ed Lake on May 12, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Lake was a homemaker all her adult life and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading and being outside.

She was a lifelong resident of Savery.

Lake is survived by her daughter, Betty Lou Teter, of Ringgold, Ga.; niece, Tracey Ann Habel, of Baggs, Wyo.; granddaughter, Amy Ann Gross, of Savery, Wyo.; grandsons, Mark Teter, of Ringgold, Ga., Brady Teter, of Knoxville, Tenn., Nathan (Deffenbaugh) Habel, of Baggs, and Dustin Habel, of Baggs; great-grandchildren, Lindsay Teter, of Ringgold and Nathan and Alexander Teter of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, James P. Barney and Ed Lake, and a granddaughter, Wendy Lou Teter Fisher.

Services were Sept. 10, 2002, at Reader Cemetery in Wyoming with Paul Prestrud officiating. The eulogy was given by Mark Teter. Soloist was Jake Fleming and selections were “Rock of Ages” and “Sweet Bye and Bye.”

Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Teter, Mark Teter, Nathan Habel, Brady Teter, Larry Habel and Dustin Habel.

Interment of cremains was at Reader Cemetery.
