Fitness Tip: Two 5K walk/runs come to Craig

Craig residents will have multiple opportunities the next two weekends to get moving while supporting a worthy endeavor with upcoming 5K races.

The 5K Color Run/Walk takes place at 8 a.m. today at Loudy-Simpson Park, with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. to begin the Victory Motors Cancer Drive.

Participants are encouraged to wear white clothing, which will be splashed with a rainbow of color by the end of the race. The cost is $20 for one person, $30 for a team of two, $40 for a team of four, $5 for kids 6 to 12 and free to kids 5 and younger.

Proceeds will benefit Moffat County Cancer Society.

June 18 will see the fifth annual Wake the Whittler 5K and One-Mile Fun Run as part of the Whittle the Wood Rendezvous, also at Loudy-Simpson.

Wake the Whittler starts registration at 7:15 a.m., with the 5K kicking off at 8 a.m. and the Fun Run following.

All runners will receive a t-shirt and the top male and female runners in each age group will take home prizes. The cost is $20 for adults, free to ages 17 and younger.

Funds benefit FMCE’s work with local schools. Registration can be dropped off at Eastside Liquor or mailed to PO Box 985, Craig, CO 81626.
