Fitness Tip: Off season training
Whether you are getting out of school, have already completed your marathon or triathlon, or just need to change up your regular fitness routine, taking a short break is okay, but don’t skip more than a week of no workouts. For those lifting heavy weights regularly, a week-long break is recommended. Changing fitness routines is recommended for everyone not training for a specific sport or event or even those who have been exercising but have reached a fitness or weight-loss plateau. Don’t stop cardiovascular exercises, but change from machines to walking, running, or biking outside; if football or soccer is your sport, switch it up to swimming, tennis, or cycling. Enjoy the nice temperatures and longer periods of daylight during this Colorado summer.
