Fitness Tip: Maximizing Strength

It is important to incorporate different types of resistance into a strength training program in order to get the most out of your workout and maximize muscle use. Exercise machines are designed to work specific muscle groups through a guided range of motion and recruit the major movers while free weights and resistance bands allow for more joint motion and activation of the smaller stabilizing muscles.

No matter what type of resistance you use, it is important to make sure you are performing slow and controlled movements that will help prevent injury and promote maximal muscle function.
