Fitness Tip: Holiday exercise

Don’t let the holidays throw your workout routine out of whack. Choose a condensed, yet intense workout that can be crammed into the otherwise busy days. Choose exercises that can be performed anywhere such as jumping jacks, jogging in place,and jump-roping, and then add 20 to 30 reps of lower body exercises such as squats or lunges and 20 to 30 reps of upper body exercises such as push-ups or chair dips. If traveling, pack resistance tubes or bands which allow for weight training but are compact and lightweight and fit easily into your luggage. Squeeze your routine in first thing in the morning, giving you an extra boost of energy to last the entire day. Exercising early in the day also allows your body to burn calories throughout the day.
