Fitness Tip: Cross-training

Cross-training involves adding different types of exercises into your fitness regimen. Usual cross-training activities include walking, swimming, biking and resistance training. Cross-training can make your fitness routine more fun and beneficial.
Benefits of cross-training include toning the entire body because of the variety of activities; increasing the likelihood of sticking with your exercise routine, avoiding burnout; having better preparation of muscles for new exercises; working more muscle groups throughout your body; and a reduced risk of overuse injury. Try mixing it up and see the difference.
