Updated: Fire damages mobile home in Craig’s Shadow Mountain Village
CRAIG – Craig Fire/Rescue responded to a structure fire about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17.
The fire damaged a mobile home located at 986 Aspen Ave. No one was living in the residence, and at the time of the fire, the residence was vacant. As a result of the fire, the mobile home is now uninhabitable, said Moffat County Sheriff KC Hume.
No other structures were involved in the fire.
The fire originated underneath the trailer and, upon investigation, responders speculated that heat tape or heat cable may have been involved, Hume said.
Aspen Avenue was closed in the vicinity of the fire — from Ninth to Willow streets — for about an hour to make room for the deployment of fire equipment.
Craig Fire and Rescue, Moffat County Sheriff’s Office and Memorial Regional Health Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.
