A joint investigation of the Sunday night fire at the Country Mall, 356 Ranney St., has determined the fire was a work of arson, the Craig Police Department announced this afternoon.

“Based on results of the investigation, the fire has been ruled as arson and the criminal investigation has been turned over to the Craig Police Department,” according to a press release issued at 2 p.m. today.

“The investigation is continuing. The scene has been released to the insurance company, but due to safety reasons will remain sealed with no access allowed.”
