— The third annual Festival of Trees hosted by Moffat County Youth United Way and Moffat County High School Key Club people’s choice winners were announced Thursday evening at the Moffat County Courthouse.

Napa Auto Parts won first place with their “Believe” tree, based on Disney’s animated motion picture, “Frozen” and the song “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” John Ponikvar accepted a Swarovski crystal snowflake Christmas ornament from City Manager Jim Ferree.

The Yampa Valley Pregnancy Center tree took second and the Moffat County tree took third.

On Dec. 4, Judge’s Choice winners were announced. Friends of the Moffat County Libraries won first, Connections 4 Kids got second, the Moffat County Cattlewomen took third and the Community Budget Center came in fourth.

County Clerk Lila Herod, a member of the Festival of Trees planning committee, said this year they received more donations for trees than they have in previous years. Executive Director of United Way Corrie Ponikvar said they received about $250 in donations.
