Elin P. Carns (1913-2005)

Elin P. Carns, lifelong resident of Hayden, died Nov. 10, 2005, at Sandrock Ridge Care Center. She was 92.

Elin P. Carns was born Sept. 4, 1913.

She married Jim Carns of Hayden on Nov. 10, 1948. They lived on a ranch north of Hayden, where they raised their son, Ivan. The family ran sheep and raised crops of barley and wheat for many years. Elin enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and crocheting.

She is survived by her son, Ivan (Sandie) Carns; grandchildren Brad, Katlyn (Dan) Kemry; great-grandson, Dakota; sister, Myrtle Rhodes and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Per Victor and Thilda Sjostrom, her husband, Jim Carns, a sister, Mildred Lowe, and a brother, Carl Simpson.

Services were held Nov. 14, 2005, at Hayden Congregational Church in Hayden, with Janet Babish officiating. Music was by Rod Compton and Avis Funk.

Pallbearers were Ivan Carns, Dan Kemry, Tim Bertram, Brad Carns, Stan Zuber, Stan Sjostrom.

Services were concluded at the church.

Interment was at Hayden Cemetery.
