EDP: Yes on lodging tax

To the editor:

It’s on everybody’s mind these days — the economy. But, what can we do about it?

Sometimes it feels like the world is too complicated and that one person or one community can’t really make a difference.

You already work hard at your job or businesses.

You already volunteer in your community – whether it is coaching a youth sports team or helping at your church.

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

What more can you do? Well, in this election you can do one more thing to help make a difference for Craig and Moffat County.

Please vote yes on Referendum 2B, the proposed city lodging tax.

In addition to creating new amenities to attract more tourism dollars, you will also be helping by increasing economic development efforts. Economic development is what we call the work that a community does to attract, retain or grow local businesses.

That’s something that we could use more of. New and growing businesses create more jobs. Do you want to help create more jobs?  Vote yes on 2B.

For more information on economic development, please visit http://www.cmedp.com.

The Craig/Moffat Economic Development Partnership believes 2B is good for our local economy.  Please join us in supporting 2B and make a vote for Craig’s future.
