5A: Local Marketing District — Vote Yes

1A, 2A: Broadband — Vote Yes

Moffat County voters have the opportunity to vote on Referred Ballot Measure 5A when the ballots are sent to your homes in mid-October. Review your ballot and vote “yes” to be a part of our future.

This measure allows Moffat County to form a Local Marketing District.

Craig Moffat Economic Development Partnership, Craig Chamber of Commerce and Moffat County Tourism Association are writing a community-based plan that incorporates the common goals of all three organizations. We know this is the best way to work together for Moffat County. Board members of all three organizations have had to plan well by honoring the specific mission of each organization and creating a future with collaborative goals that will make a difference.

A successful Local Marketing District will provide additional funding for economic development goals that benefit our community consistent resources to support business development that will encourage new services and products.

The Local Marketing District will be funded by a tax on overnight stays in Moffat County lodging facilities. The tax will be used to boost tourism and help all of us enjoy the “best kept secret in Colorado” when we go out to play in Moffat County.

To achieve our economic diversification plans, we are stronger together. Those plans include supporting our local businesses, encouraging new business growth and supporting our primary jobs that keep our economy strong. Consistent funding for tourism and economic development will help our local businesses stay strong and grow.

Having the best resources to prosper is also key to business success. That’s why I also want to remind you to vote “yes” on measures 1A and 2A for the opportunity of improved broadband services for our community. Know that CMEDP is committed to working with our local telecom providers and local government in developing high-speed Internet access.

Support the organizations and local government leaders who are working together to plan for our community’s best interests and join me in supporting measures 5A, 1A and 2A.

Vote “yes” for Moffat County’s economic future.
