Draft Horse Show kicks off Saturday
This year, Mardi Anson will have her Draft Horse show from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Moffat County Fairgrounds.
This year’s show will have six to eight horse hitches from the Denver area and a team out of Utah. It also will have a couple four horse hitches. Anson is hoping for good weather for the community to come watch, but the show will go on rain or shine.
This year will be a lot like the National Western Stock Show Draft Horse show. So if you missed the big beautiful horses at the stock show in January, here is another chance to see them in action. Along with the big hitch teams, Anson will also feature the local farm teams and all the farm team competitions. Additionally, youth driving events will be on hand to get the younger generations involved.
“We are excited for this year’s show just because I have all the interest from the big fancy hitches. I hope to fill the grand stands for them,” Anson said in an email. “The show is free to the public to come watch, and we encourage you to come behind the scenes with caution and come say, ‘hi!’”
If anyone is interested in donating prizes for the event, you can hang your banner, give hand outs to the contestants, and get recognized during the event, let Anson know.
Craig Press Publisher Renee Campbell invites the community to join Coffee & a Newspaper, set for 7 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at the east Kum & Go, 700 E. Victory Way.
