Dr. and Mrs. Thomas N. Told: The best in 2009
Mollie and I would like to thank all those who came out to wish us well last week. We also would like to thank those who have called or stopped by or sent cards and letters. You are truly the best folks on the planet, and it has been an honor to serve the area for over three decades.
My decision to join Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Parker was a direct result of my practice here in Northwest Colorado and Southern Wyoming. Our nation spends more money on health care than any other industrialized county, but we are next to last when it comes to quality outcomes.
Experts agree that this is a result of our insistence on sub-specialized care and procedures over the generalized care provided by Family Physicians General Internists and General Pediatricians.
In the few years I have left to practice, I would like to spend it teaching, and inspiring the younger generation of physicians to choose rural primary care for their field of practice.
I also would like to thank The Memorial Hospital board and administration for making sure that the same quality health care that has been delivered through the years at Craig Medical Center will continue for years to come.
This coming year will see the addition of Andrew Hughs, M.D., and other experienced family physicians to our Pershing Street location.
The best to all of you in 2009.
