Don Roth: The spirit of Christmas prevails in Craig

To the editor:

On Tuesday evening, at about 7 p.m., my doorbell rang. When I answered it, there stood Santa Claus with a couple of helpers. What a pleasant surprise.

With a little persuasion, Santa unveiled himself. I knew one of the helpers by sight.

Needless to say, after a slight mask lowering by Santa, I knew him (the other helper) also. What a kind and thoughtful gesture. Santa gave me a striped candy cane, and they even turned down a drink and off they went. I am really, really moved by such a showing of love.

I am a 70-plus person who happens to know these guys’ parents. Why they chose me, I have no idea. It was cool though.

The spirit of Christmas still prevails.
