Don Roth: Moffat community full of generosity

To the editor:

I never cease to be amazed at the generosity of the Moffat County community. A recent showing of this was the Yahoo Golf Tournament and Ball Drop. Local and out of Craig businesses came up with a great many super prizes.

The Knez and Severson families have been putting this event together for several years. It is in commemoration of, and to celebrate each of the lives of their family members that have passed away.

Many other golfers also are included.

Each year now for some time, these organizers have designated a local charity as recipients of the proceeds from the Ball Drop. This year, the same as two years ago, the Horizons for the Developmentally Disabled here in Moffat County are the designated organization.

Due to the gracious, generous and concerned people of this area, Horizons will be receiving more than $20,000. It would be a monumental task to thank each of you personally. This is my way as a board member to extend a hearty expression of thanks to each and every person that made this a big and wonderful event.

Horizons board president
