Saturday, Jan. 27
12:36 p.m. On the 2300 block of West Victory Way, officers took a report of the theft of a $200 pellet gun. The gun was believed to have been stolen Friday. The packaging for the gun, which looks like a real gun, was found Saturday.
4:07 p.m. On the 600 block of Green Street, officers responded to a report of a postal truck that had been parked for more than two hours with flashing lights turned on. Officers discovered the vehicle was broken down, and the driver was waiting for a mechanic.
4:42 p.m. Near Yampa Valley Electric on the East side of Craig, officers responded to a report of a car versus deer crash. The deer broke the car’s windshield before running away.
4:52 p.m. On the 700 block of Bridger Circle, officers responded to a report of two cars parked in the driveway. Upon investigation, officers discovered neighbors had parked in the driveway while their own driveway was being worked on.
5:07 p.m. Near the corner of Seventh Street and Jeremiah Avenue, officers responded to a call for assistance from a motorist.
9:07 p.m. On the 700 block of East Victory Way, officers responded to a report of domestic violence. A 45-year-old male resident of Craig was arrested for assault in the third degree, violation of a protection order and violation of bail bond conditions.
Sunday, Jan. 28
1:56 a.m. In the city of Craig, officers responded to a report of domestic violence. A woman called to advise her husband had been drinking and had hit her. The woman had left the house but reported her husband was yelling at their daughter. Officers spoke with the male party. No arrests were made, and both parties left the house.
10:43 a.m. On the 500 block of Tucker Street, officers responded to a report of a disturbance. The reporting party said his ex-wife was in the home snooping and saying the house was dirty, adding that she was being verbally abusive. The ex-wife left in a vehicle.
5:10 p.m. Officers engaged in a drug-related investigation within the city.
6:45 p.m. On the 2000 block of West Victory Way, officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. A person reported a truck in the Walmart parking lot with its bright lights on and children in the back of the vehicle. The truck left the area.
7:01 p.m. On the 1600 block of Heather Street, officers responded to a report of fraud on a For Sale Facebook page. The case was turned over the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, as the alleged incident did not occur within Craig city limits.
Police want residents to be aware of a scam in the Craig area after local residents have been targeted.
