Debra Sanders: Deer are part of country living

I am sad to hear that there are those who want the deer inside the city limits to be killed.

These animals are here because they are hungry. I would be glad to offer up the flowers in my yard to feed them.

Those in town have an option of fencing their property. The only option the deer have is to starve to death.

You bet deer belong in the country. We live in the country.

Just because a man puts a sign up marking city limits doesn’t change the facts.

I’m thankful I live in a place where I can look out my windows and see wildlife.

I remember one year when the deer and elk were starving to death and the town rallied up and fed them. People Magazine even came and covered the event.

I pray City Council lets these animals live. Those who don’t want wildlife in their yards perhaps should consider living in the bigger cities.

Let’s save our wildlife, not destroy it, especially because of reasons listened.

As far as dodging them with our vehicles, well, good practice for when you’re out on the highways.

No one needs to go that fast in town anyways. Kids move faster on their bikes and skateboards, it’s good practice.

It’s not every winter the animals go through this, and I pray this town can be a little more patient and understanding.

If we have an overpopulation of deer, the Department of Wildlife will issue more licenses during the hunting seasons.

I don’t believe we should undermine their count.
