Debi Harmon: Coalition doesn’t sponsor tournament
To the editor:
I want to thank Christina Currie for the outstanding article “Filling a Need” in Tuesday’s edition of the Craig Daily Press. Some researchers have made claims that dental caries and gum disease is probably the most chronic disease in the world. We appreciate all the public awareness that draws attention to this issue.
With all due respect, I would like to clarify a statement that was reported incorrectly. Northwest Colorado Dental Coalition does not sponsor an annual golf tournament, but it instead was fortunate enough to be chosen as the recipient of the 2005 annual Yahoo Golf Tournament fundraiser. The Yahoo Golf fundraiser has a beautiful history of its own, thanks to Tom and Helen Knez.
Throughout the past several years, the Yahoo Golf Fundraiser has designated its proceeds to benefit many different organizations.
Northwest Colorado Dental Coalition is honored to be included in the philanthropy effort of these fabulous community members.
The proceeds have been used, and continue to be used, to help low-income, uninsured children receive relief-of-pain emergency dental care.
Brush and floss everyday!
