Friday, Sept. 23

2 p.m. Ed Carpenter will sign copies of “America’s First Grazier: The Biography of Farrington R. Carpenter” at the Museum of Northwest Colorado. The autograph session is free and open to the public. Carpenter will sing cowboy songs and talk about his father.

2 to 4 p.m. The Museum of Northwest Colorado is hosting a book signing for “America’s First Grazier,” the biography of Farrington R. Carpenter, written by his son, Ed Carpenter. There also will be a photographic exhibit by Farringon’s daughter, Barbara Carpenter. “A Sense of Place,” is a photographic history of the Carpenter Ranch.

5 p.m. Craig Youth Hockey travel team registrations are due at the city of Craig Parks and Recreation Department in City Hall. For more information, call Mike Boatright at 824-2046 or Mark Bangs at 824-8211.

6 to 7 p.m. The grand opening celebration of the Loudy-Simpson Park Disc Golf Course is just west of the covered picnic shelter. Free disks and bottled water will be given to the first 75 people, and experts will be on hand to demonstrate the game.

6:45 p.m. The Craig Elks Club hosts bingo night every Friday. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 24

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Golden Leaf Festival is in downtown Craig. Events include children’s activities, live music, crafts and food vendors and competitions. The event continues Sunday.

10 a.m. Hands-on Quilters will meet at the Craig Fire Station. Newcomers are welcome to stop in and visit. For more information, call Cheryl at 824-2567.

1 to 2 p.m. SHARE Craig distribution day is at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 678 School St. Call Karen at 824-7939 or Laura at 824-7916.

Sunday, Sept. 25

Friend Day is at Faith Baptist Church in Meeker with special guest Kevin Wyatt, a former NFL player who played for the San Diego, the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. He also will speak during the church’s Sunday morning and afternoon services.

Monday, Sept. 26

7 p.m. Moffat County Partners will sponsor the “Magic, Magic, Magic Show” at Moffat County High School. Children get in free. For more information, call Tara at 826-4261.

Thursday, Sept. 29

7 to 9 p.m. The Yampa River Basin Partnership’s annual meeting is at at the Yampa River State Park headquarters near Hayden. The keynote address is “Our Yampa River.” Eric Hecox and Frank McNulty of the Department of Natural Resources are scheduled to speak. Call 824-8233.

Friday, Sept. 30

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mothers Of Preschoolers is having a bake sale fundraiser in front of City Market. All donations will go to MOPS.

6:45 p.m. The Craig Elks Club hosts bingo night every Friday. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 6

7 p.m. Yampa Valley Sewing Guild meets at 7 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig. All seamstresses are invited to attend. Call Pat at 824-3324.
