The leaves change color Tuesday at Yampa Valley Gold Course as fall makes its way into Northwest Colorado.


9:30 a.m. The Craig Book Club meets at the Golden Cavvy. Marian Simons will review “John Adams” by David McCullough. Veda Wyman is the hostess. Call 824-5703.

10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Moffat County Public Library holds story time in the children’s room. This story time will focus on Children’s Health Month and ways to stay healthy.

10:40 to 11:10 a.m. The homecoming royalty coronation is at the MCHS auditorium.

Noon. The Craig Beautification Committee will hold its fall business meeting at Yampa Valley Bank, upstairs in the boardroom. Fall projects are in the works. The community is welcome to attend.

5 to 7 p.m. A Community Tail Gate Football Team Dinner will be held in the MCHS parking lot. The cost is $5. The menu includes pulled pork sandwiches, chips, pasta salad, fruit salad, baked beans, potato salad, desserts and drinks.

Friday, Oct. 10

8:30 to 10 a.m. Senior swimnastics is at the American Legion Post 62 pool, 1055 Moffat County Road 7. Call 824-3625.

11 a.m. to Noon. A Moffat County High School pep rally is at the high school, 900 Finley Lane.

2 p.m. MCHS Homecoming Parade starts at Calvary Baptist Church, 1050 Yampa Ave. The parade will go south on Yampa Avenue and turn west on Victory Way to the parking lot of Safeway Food and Drug, 1295 Victory Way.

6 p.m. The Elks Lodge, 43 W. Victory Way, hosts Bingo. Minimum payout is $1,000 each night. Doors open at 5 p.m.

7 p.m. The Homecoming Varsity football game is at Moffat County High School Proving Grounds.

7 p.m. Fellowship Group Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 80 E. Fourth St.

Saturday, Oct. 11

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A free Car Care Clinic will be held at 1150 W. Ninth St. in Craig for single mothers, seniors and the disabled. This is the First Baptist small group project. The clinic is by appointment only. Call Love INC at 826-4400.

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Craig Concert Association will hold tryouts for the Local Talent Concert at the Moffat County High School Auditorium. The three-to-five minute auditions are on a first-come, first-served basis. For information, call Jim Simpson at 824-4138.

2 to 4 p.m. Sandi Ault, author of “Wild Inferno,” a mystery about a BLM firefighter, will read from and talk about her books, the writing life and living in Colorado at Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave. in Craig. For more information, call 824-5343.
