Craig Intermediate School, Sunset Elementary and East Elementary are holding Scholastic Book Fairs this week.

3:30 p.m. Moffat County High School parent/teacher conferences will be held until 7 p.m.

5 p.m. The Moffat County Affiliated Junior College District holds its Board of Control Special Meeting at the Bell Tower Building, 50 College Drive. Agenda items include discussion of the Trapper Fitness Center and mill levy certification. Call 824-1109.

5 p.m. A beginners’ skating and hockey class for all ages, sponsored by the Craig Youth Hockey Association, begins today at the Moffat County Ice Arena at Loudy-Simpson Park. The cost is $25 and skates can be rented for $1. The class will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Nov. 23. Sign up at the Parks and Recreation Department in City Hall, or call Mike Boatright at 824-2046.

5:30 p.m. The Moffat County Bad Dawgs are hosting a chili feed at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion until 9 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door and cost $10 for a family of five or $2.50 per person. Door prize tickets will be available for $1. All proceeds will go toward singlets for the team. Call Jill at 826-0239.

6 p.m. New member and parent orientation will be held at the Boys and Girls Club, 1324 U.S. Highway 40. New members, parents and interested community members are encouraged to attend. Call 826-0411.
Wednesday, Nov. 10
Wednesday is the deadline to register for Hayden Recreation Department’s self-defense seminar Saturday. The seminar will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Hayden High School. Registration is $10. Call J.D. Paul at 276-7242.

Noon Colorado First Conservation District will hold its monthly meeting at 356 Ranney St. Call Shary at 824-3476, ext. 101.

3 p.m. Quest Bible-based activities program for children grades kindergarten through fourth will meet at the First Congregational Church, 630 Green St., until 4:45 p.m. through April 30. Stories, activities and snacks are provided. Call 824-3039.

5:45 p.m. Community Coat Drive distribution is at First Christian Church, 960 W. Victory Way, until 6:45 p.m. A free soup supper will be provided. Anyone who needs a coat may come. One coat per person per year. Parents may pick up coats for children. Call 824-6024.

6:30 p.m. Awana groups for ages 3 through sixth grade meet at First Baptist Church, 1150 W. Ninth St. Call Pastor Brian Haynes at 824-5926.

8:30 p.m. A regional products workshop, “Exploring Our Options,” sponsored by Yampa Valley Economic Development Council in partnership with Yampa Valley Partners and Community Agriculture Alliance, is at the Holiday Inn of Craig until 3:30 p.m. The workshop costs $20 and includes materials and lunch. Thursday, Nov. 11
The Craig branch of Moffat County Libraries will be closed in observance of Veterans Day.

No school for kindergarten students.

9:30 a.m. The Craig Book Club meets at the Craig Boys and Girls Club, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40, to discuss “Cold Mountain” by Charles Frazier. Call Patti at 826-0412.

In-service day for elementary and intermediate schools. No classes. Book fairs will be open during parent/teacher conferences.

7:30 a.m. The Boys and Girls Club of Craig is sponsoring a play day for elementary school students at its building, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40, until 6 p.m. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided but children must bring their own lunches. There is no charge or registration for Boys and Girls Club members; nonmembers may attend for a $10 fee if they are registered by 6 p.m. Wednesday. After Wednesday, registration for nonmembers is $20. Call 826-0411.
