The Moffat County Ice Arena is open for the 2004 skating season. Session times vary according to the daily schedule of hockey practice and figure skating practice. Open skating sessions are 1 1/2 hours and are available every day of the week. Each session costs $2.50 and skate rental is available for $3 a day. Take-home schedules for November are available at the Ice Arena at Loudy-Simpson Park. For more information, call 824-3011.
5:30 p.m. LIFE, a weight-loss group, meets at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St. Weigh-in begins at 5:30 and the meeting begins at 6 p.m. The group meets every Monday. Call Joan at 824-6611 or Ken Fleming at 824-6806.
5:30 p.m. The Board of Trustees for the Moffat County Libraries meets at the Craig Branch, 570 Green St. The public is always welcome.
6 p.m. The Town of Hayden is hosting “Visualizing Hayden’s Future,” a three-hour presentation which will focus on the town’s comprehensive plan and visioning process, at Routt County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall. A community supper will be provided and child care will be available at Hayden Elementary School. Call 276-3741.
7 p.m. Hands On Housing, a self-help housing program, will host an informational meeting for families or individuals interested in building and owning their own homes in Hayden or Oak Creek. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Yampa Valley Housing Authority. The meeting will be in the Country Mall, 356 Ranney St., Suite 20. Call 870-0167.

Wednesday, Nov. 17
8:30 a.m. Mothers of Preschoolers meets at Calvary Baptist Church, 1050 Yampa Ave., until 11. The cost of $6 includes breakfast, crafts and speakers. Children are welcome. Call 824-0101.
3 p.m. Quest Bible-based activities program for children grades kindergarten through fourth will meet at the First Congregational Church, 630 Green St., until 4:45 p.m. through April 30. Stories, activities and snacks are provided. Call 824-3039.
5:45 p.m. Community Coat Drive distribution is at First Christian Church, 960 W. Victory Way, until 6:45 p.m. A free soup supper will be provided. Anyone who needs a coat may come. One coat per person per year. Parents may pick up coats for children. Call 824-6024.

6:30 p.m. The Colorado Division of Wildlife is hosting an anglers’ round table meeting at the Carpenter Ranch, three miles east of Hayden on U.S. Highway 40. The purpose of the meeting is to solicit issues from anglers concerning fishing regulations and review recent fish management activities in the area. The public is invited to attend. 4 p.m. Compassionate Friends meets at the First Congregational Church library room, 630 Green St. The mission of the Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive. 7 p.m. The Cancer Support Group meets until 8 p.m. in the Visiting Nurse Association conference room, 745 Russell St. Call 824-7641.
7 p.m. The Yampa Valley Landlords Association is holding a meeting at the Craig Police Department. It is imperative that all landlords attend, as discussion will focus on the fair market rent rate for Moffat County. Call 824-2772.
7:30 p.m. Moffat County High School presents “South Pacific” in the high school auditorium, 900 Finley Lane. Tickets for the play are $5; MCHS students with valid IDs and children younger than 3 can attend for free. Call 824-7036 to purchase or reserve tickets. Box office also will sell tickets starting at 6 p.m. on performance nights.
