The Moffat County Library, 570 Green St. will be closed in observance of Independence Day.

7 a.m. The Cottonwood Classic golf tournament takes place at Yampa Valley Golf Course.

7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Craig/Moffat County Airport hosts its Fourth of July celebration, including a free pancake breakfast, coffee and cake and helicopter rides. Entrance and food is free, but a spin in the helicopter is $50 a seat. Call 824-9148.



7 to 10 a.m. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265 retires flags at a burning ceremony at the Moffat County Fairgrounds, 640 E. Victory Way. Residents are welcome to bring their worn flags to burn.

8 a.m. The Little Britches Rodeo takes place at the Moffat County Fairgrounds, 640 E. Victory Way.



10 a.m. The Craig Sea Sharks compete in Delta.

8:30 p.m. The Northwest Colorado Tea Party Patriots conduct a demonstration at the intersection of Finley Lane and Ninth Street, near Moffat County High School.

At sunset, the Craig Fire Rescue will present the annual fireworks display at the Moffat County High School, 900 Finley Lane. The display should last about 45 minutes.

9 to 10 a.m. National Arthritis Foundation swimming takes place at the American Legion Post 62 pool, 1055 Moffat County Road 7. Call 824-3625.

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free cardiovascular assessments are available at the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association office in Craig, 745 Russell St. The VNA will screen for a full cholesterol panel, glucose levels and body mass index. Call 846-9855 or 875-1880.

Noon. Al-Anon, a group for friends and family members of alcoholics, meets at First Congregational Church, 630 Green St. Call Bob Woods at 824-6836.

2 p.m. AARP meeting takes place in the dining room at Sunset Meadows 1, 633 Ledford St. AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization for people ages 50 and older. Call Beverly Chapman at 824-6882.

6:30 to 8:15 p.m. “Pulse,” a New Creation Church youth group, meets at the Centennial Mall, 1111 W. Victory Way. Ages 11 to 18 are welcome.
