Wednesday, July 25

8 a.m. The Craig Downtown Business Association meets at Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave. The second Wednesday of each month is a Meet-and-Greet, hosted by a local business.

Noon to 2 p.m. The Dinosaur Branch of the Moffat County Libraries is planning a Summer Reading Program party in Dinosaur City Park.

5:30 p.m. The Craig Beautification Committee has its weekly meeting at the Chamber of Commerce, 360 E. Victory Way. The public is invited to attend. Bring work gloves and gardening tools.

6:30 p.m. Moffat County Habitat for Humanity will hold its monthly meeting at the First Congregational Church, 645 Green St. The public is invited.

Thursday, July 26

11 a.m. The Craig branch of Moffat County Libraries hosts story-time at the south side of Craig City Park. The theme is Science Mysteries. Take sunscreen and a hat, as well as lunch and a drink, weather permitting.

Saturday, July 28

Renowned certified quilt appraiser by the American Quilter’s Society, Jeananne Wright, will be in Craig to appraise your old and new quilts. Call 824-6213 to arrange appointment.

Wednesday, Aug. 8

9 a.m. Rally for the Cure Golf event will be held at the Yampa Valley Golf Course. It is a scramble format. There is a $40 entry fee, which includes lunch, prizes and a Golf for Women magazine subscription; however, the fee does not cover green fees or cart. The event benefits the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Moffat County Cancer Society. Call Susan at 824-9656.

Thursday, Aug. 9

Life Line Screening to detect arterial abnormalities, which can cause disrupted blood flow that lead to strokes will be at the Elk’s Lodge #1577 of Craig. Pre-registration is required by calling 1-800-324-1851.

Saturday, Sept. 29

7 p.m. Moffat County High School “Magic Magic Magic show.” The Humane Society of Moffat County is sponsoring the Magic Magic Show to raise funds for special needs at the shelter, care for abused and abandoned animals, and medical expenses such as vaccination and the spay/neuter program. To support the Humane Society you may purchase kids tickets, which you may give to some children, or the tickets may be donated to children in the local area on your behalf.
