10 and 11:30 a.m. The Moffat County Library hosts a story-hour. This week’s topic is dinosaurs. Story-hour is at the library, 570 Green St.

6 p.m. Community members are invited to bid on eight hours of labor from one of 50 FFA members at the vocational agriculture building at Moffat County High School. The money raised helps FFA participants attend state and national events. There will also be a chili dinner. Call 824-7036.

6 to 8 p.m. Communities Overcoming Methamphetamine Abuse and the Colorado Workforce Center are hosting a seminar at the school administration building, 775 Yampa Ave. Topics include legal issues of drug and alcohol testing in the workplace and implementing drug and alcohol testing. RSVP at 826-2301.



7 p.m. Craig Performing Arts Project planning meeting to explore ideas for formalizing the organization and advancing the idea of theater in Craig.

Friday, Feb. 24
7 to 10 p.m. The Yampa Valley Pregnancy Center sponsors a Bunko Beach Party at The Boys & Girls Club of Craig. RSVP to LuAnn at 824-5926 or Barb at 276-3111.



7:30 p.m. The Knights of Columbus of Saint Michael hosts Mardi Gras at St. Michael Church. Tickets are $15 each and may be purchased at the St. Michael Church office, 678 School St., from any Knights of Columbus member or by calling 824-5330.

Saturday, Feb. 25
1 to 2 p.m. Distribution day for SHARE Craig, a program offering low-cost groceries to local residents, will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, 678 School St. Call Karen at 824-7939.

7 p.m. The 58th annual Maybell Plays will feature “Comin’ Round the Mountain,” by Ned Albert, and “The Laughing Ghost,” by Le Roma Greth, at Maybell Elementary School on Haynes Street in Maybell. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors 60 and older. Children younger than 6 get in free.

Sunday, Feb. 26
12:30 p.m. Bill Ritter, a Democratic candidate for Colorado governor, will be at Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave., to meet voters.
5 p.m. United Mine Workers Local 1799 will meet at the Center of Craig.

Monday, Feb. 27
1 p.m. A birthday party for Moffat County will be held at the Museum of Northwest Colorado, 590 Yampa Ave. Moffat County is turning 95. The party is free and open to the public.

2 p.m. AARP Craig Chapter 1418 will meet at Sunset Meadows I, 633 Ledford St. Program will feature City Manager Jim Ferree. The club will accept donations for the Food Bank. Call 824-5123.

6:30 p.m. Free public health lecture on diabetes at the Craig Fire Station by Dr. Jessica German of Craig Chiropractic.

Wednesday, March 1
6 p.m. A seminar on the basics of tree care, sponsored by the CSU Moffat County Extension Office, will be in the basement of the extension office, 539 Barclay. The cost is $10 a household. Register by calling 824-9180.
