Curtice’s contract finalized in Rifle; Moffat County School Board moves forward with superintendent search

— The Moffat County Board of Education has scheduled a work session at 7 a.m. on Tuesday to discuss the budget, followed by a meeting at 8:45 a.m. to accept Superintendent Brent Curtice’s resignation and to clarify financial statements related to the district, Board President Darrell Camilletti said Wednesday.

Curtice’s three-year contract with Garfield School District No. Re-2 was approved Tuesday, and he will remain working as the superintendent in Moffat County through June 30.

Camilletti said the Moffat County School Board is at work on a timeline for the superintendent search.

“We’re ready to move forward,” he said.

Earlier this month, the school board enlisted the services of the Colorado Association of School Boards to facilitate a superintendent search, contingent upon Curtice’s resignation.
