Cub John Chivington

Cub John Chivington, of Vernal, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 due to injuries sustained in a truck accident. He was 22. He was currently leased to J-West transportation.

Cub was born on February 18, 1981, to Boots and Danette (Gideon) Chivington in Whittier, Calif.

Chivington’s passions were racing his car, riding his BMX bike, fishing, snowboarding, skateboarding, skydiving, truck’in and hanging out with his buddies. He put his heart and soul into living life to the fullest. Chivington met the love of his life, Amie Reinhardt, whom is expecting the birth of their first child.



Chivington is survived by his mother, Danette Chivington, of Salt Lake City, Utah; father, Boots Chivington and Ruth Ann Buist, of Vernall; sister, Traci Chivington, of Gunnison, Colo.; grandmother, Betty Gideon, of Paris; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Chivington was preceded in death by his grandpa, “Poppy” Gideon, grandparents, John and Muriel Chivington, and his favorite dog “Puck.”



Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Stan Arias of the World Vision Assembly of God presiding over the services. Burial was in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
