Following scrimmage sessions over Thanksgiving break, MCHS boys varsity basketball competes at Lake County High School's tournament Friday and Saturday in Leadville, scheduled to meet Eagle Valley, Crested Butte and Lake County.

Closer to home, MCHS girls varsity and JV will play in the opening week of Meeker's Cowboy Shootout Thursday through Saturday. Varsity will play Nucla to start with remaining opponents yet to be determined, while JV has Grand Valley, Soroco and Aspen slated.

Bulldog wrestlers will also hit the road for the weekend, with Saturday's Maverick Duals at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction providing a busy starting day for varsity grapplers. Likewise, JV heads to Olathe's tournament the same day, competing against a pool that includes 10 other teams, such as Meeker, Cedaredge, Delta, Gunnison, Rifle and more across the Western Slope.

The Moffat County girls swim team does not have an event this week but will open the season with relays Dec. 10 at the El Pomar Natatorium at Colorado Mesa University.
