Dude Dent awards night honors scholar athletes

Moffat County High School will host its annual Lewis “Dude” Dent Memorial Award Selection Dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Clarion Inn & Suites, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13.

The event honors the top male and female senior athletes for their prowess in both sports and academics. The Dude Dent is named in honor of Dent who was a scholar athlete in Moffat County in the 1930s before being killed in action during World War II.

The ceremony will also award younger students at MCHS who have achieved a great deal throughout the year in sporting and scholastic endeavors.

The evening is $15 per plate. Tickets can be purchased through the school’s first floor athletic office.
