If you’ve got a head for college basketball as it heads into the biggest tournament of the year, catch the fever online with the Craig Daily Press Battle of the Brackets.
Visit craigdailypress.com/basketball to sign up for the free event, which is part of the national UPICKEM program, offering prizes at the local and national levels, a $1 million prize at stake for those who correctly predict the winner of every game of the NCAA Men’s Division I event.
Participants can pick before each game instead of setting their entire bracket from the start, with selections open the evening of March 15. VIP pickers include Shane Camilletti of Mountain West Insurance & Financial Services, Ryan Duran of Eastside Liquor, Steve Maneotis of Victory Motors, Brett Etzler of Carelli’s Pizzeria & Pasta and Andy Bockelman, Daily Press sports reporter.
Craig billiards league scores — Week 18
BCA Pool Leagues has gone through 18 weeks of play, starting its season in early September at The Popular Bar, 24 W. Victory Way, with a Sunday 9-ball league and a Monday 8-ball league.
The 9-Ball league takes place at 5 p.m. Sundays, consisting of three-person teams with a total of 5 players allowed on teams. The 8-Ball games are at 6 p.m. Mondays, beginning Sept. 8, with five-person teams and a total of eight players allowed on teams.
Breaks in league play on March 28 and 29 and April 5 and 6 will lead to several more weeks of play before the city championships May 2 and 3, as the top teams face off for who will go to the larger event in Las Vegas.

Moffat County High School hosting winter sports night awards
Moffat County High School will honor its winter sports teams during an awards night for athletics and activities at 6:30 p.m. March 16 at MCHS.
Families will be assigned desserts and beverages to contribute.

Safari Club selling tickets for annual fundraiser
The Yampa Valley Chapter of Safari Club International will host its seventh annual fundraiser banquet March 21 at the Craig Clarion Inn & Suites, 300 S. Highway 13. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m., and live and silent auctions will follow.
Tickets are $45 for singles, $85 for couples or $500 for a table and are available in Craig at Rummel Chiropractic, Chapman’s Automotive, Craig Chamber of Commerce, Northwest Pawn Shop and Mountain Man Taxidermist.
They are also available at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association and in Meeker at Western States Realty.
