The players and coaches of Moffat Limestone Company are all smiles Saturday at Loudy-Simpson Park after a championship win, 5-4, against Hayden to take the title of the top team in the Craig Youth Baseball 11- to 13-year-old division.

The championship game for Craig Youth Baseball's 11- to 13-year-old division took place Saturday at Loudy-Simpson Park, with Moffat Limestone Company defeating Hayden, 5-4.

Coached by Brian Spears, Mindy Spears, Justin Duzik and Bennie Brackett, the players who were in the final game included Garrett Anson, Lance Brackett, George Chavez, Nick Cookston, Ryan Duzik, Cody Eckhoff, Levi Greenhow, Blake Juergens, Miles Simpson, Greg Spears, Tucker Sterle and Gio Tarango.

Moffat County cheerleaders offer free clinic next week

The Moffat County Thunder Cheer team will host a free clinic this Monday through Friday at Suite 119 of Centennial Mall, 1111 W. Victory Way.

Registration will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday with sessions from 5 to 7 p.m. each day.

Girls and boys who participate will learn basic cheer and tumbling techniques and will perform with the team in the Fourth of July parade. Parents need to sign a liability waiver before their child participates.

Women's Silver Bullet golf tourney shoots in July

The 30th annual Silver Bullet Ladies Golf Classic takes place July 16 and 17 at Yampa Valley Golf Course with shotgun starts of 12:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

The two-day tournament is an individual stroke play format with an optional skins game and gross and net payouts for each flight.

Player details through United States Golf Association or Golf Handicap and Information Network is required.

The entry fee is $145 per player with an optional cart fee of $18 per day and includes a Friday practice round and the Saturday night party that features dinner, dancing and door prizes.

Special rates for out-of-town golfers are available at Clarion Inn & Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites and Best Western Plus Deer Park Inn & Suites.

The deadline to register is July 9. Entry forms are available at yampavalleygolf.com.

Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartan Volleyball Camp takes place July 27, 28 at the school's Rangely campus.

The event includes two separate clinics, either at a cost of $65 for one or $120 for both. Individual skills camp runs from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and is for beginners and intermediate players ages 8 to 18. Skills include passing, setting, serving, blocking and other fundamentals.

Specialty camp is 5 to 8:30 p.m. for intermediate and advanced athletes ages 12 to 18 and features specific training for positions in hitting, sets and defense.

The camp is open to boys and girls.
